 Grails Podcast Wishlist

  • I want a podcast about.... specifically answering how....
  • Interviews with Grails application developers (Sven Haiges) (users) with emphasis on:
    • Why was Grails selected for an application over other candidates (specific)
    • What tools were used to set things up (IDE, database, plugins, etc.)
    • What were the challenges, how were they overcome or worked around
    • What were the lessons learned
  •  Discussions with developers of specific plugins, such as Mondrian.
    • What use case prompted the development?
    • How is the tool to be used? (examples, code fragments, etc.)
  • Discussions on specific problem areas, such as how to use Grails with Eclipse
    • How do we set up Eclipse for fast turnaround for edit and test?
    • How do we use the unit test framework without having to restart the server?
    • How do we interpret the stack traces?
  • Grails debugging. Tips, tricks,  problems, new features, features in upcoming releases.  (Grails is very attractive conceptually, but if you run off the rails, it can get rather confusing.)
  • UI creation:
    • How do we create and edit gsp pages in eclipse?
    • are there any WSIWYG tools/plugins for eclipse?
    • Is there a development process for building the GSP pages in external tools and importing them to eclipse?  How do they impact project management?
